The Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation is a non-profit 501C (3) tax exempt charitable organization that was designed to provide additional funding, resources and grants to assist our teachers and students throughout the Caldwell-West Caldwell Public School District, including all four of our elementary schools (Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington and Wilson), our middle school (GCMS) and our high school (JCHS). Helping every student in our district be successful and exceed expectations is the heart of our mission.......100% of our proceeds will go directly back to our students and teachers.

WEST CALDWELL TWP. – The James Caldwell High School gym occasionally resembled a dance floor more than a basketball court Tuesday night, Nov. 12 as the Harlem Wizards entertained a sold-out crowd.
The show basketball team took on the hometown All Stars, composed of 18 teachers and Lincoln School Principal Adam Geher, to help raise funds for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation, which buys equipment and funds programs not covered by the district’s budget.
Ellen Coughlin, chairwoman of the foundation committee that organized the event, said all 770 tickets were sold and the committee hoped to raise about $10,000 with the game.
She thanked the 26 teachers and principals who volunteered to play against the Wizards or to sell refreshments and merchandise as well as James Devlin and Dan Romano, principal and athletic director at the high school, respectively, for their assistance.
The Wizards demonstrated their trick shots and had no trouble racking up twice as many points as the local team, occasionally holding hands with their opponents and trying out some dance moves.
They also mixed with the crowd, bringing children – and sometimes their parents – out on the court to “get free stuff.”
Rebecca Vlacich of West Caldwell took part in a contest to name theme songs of television shows.
For each one she got right, with the crowd’s help, her son took a step closer to the basketball hoop.
He was told he would win a gold basketball, valued at $50, if he made the shot.
He missed twice but received the ball anyway.
Among the young children having the most fun were the Wiz Kids, who bought Harlem Wizards jerseys before the game and were permitted to retrieve basketballs for the players during their warm-up.
One of them was chosen to play alongside the Wizards in the fourth quarter.
